Hope Terrell, LMMidwife Hope with baby

Hope is a Florida Licensed Midwife . She graduated from The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, Florida. Hope had the privilege to work at Jacksonville’s first free standing birth center for seven years, prior to the opening of Birth Center of Jacksonville. During that time she worked side by side with several wonderful midwives, gaining experience in versatility. Since beginning her midwifery journey in 2004, Hope has supported hundreds of women through their pregnancies and births. Hope feels birth is one of the most empowering experiences for a woman and family and being a midwife is her life’s passion. Hope and her husband Ty are both natives of Jacksonville, Florida and have been married since 2001. They have 2 children: Matthew (1991) and Autumn (1995). When she isn’t catching babies, Hope enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as traveling.

Shea Cintron, LM CPMShea and Wilson

Shea is a graduate of The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, Florida. Birth, babies, breastfeeding have been her passion for the last 20 years.  Shea is a retired La Leche League Leader, a former DONA certified doula, and a homebirth mom. Shea and her husband Edwin have been married since 1992. Together they have 6 children: Wei (1993), Madeline (1993), Amanda (1995), Hayden (1998), Jaron (2001), and Wilson (2005). Shea has trained under several of Florida’s best midwives both in the home and birth center setting, participated in foreign midwifery internships. Shea loves to travel and attend midwifery conferences when time allows. Shea has attended several hundred births.

Angie Fennell, LM CPMAngie

Angie has been attending birth center births and homebirths for over four years. Her passion for midwifery and childbirth options began when she was pregnant with her first child in 1994. She believes that all women deserve to give birth in the way and in the setting that they wish. She is passionate about empowering women to be well-educated about their health, their bodies, and their options during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

Angie graduated from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, FL, and has worked with many midwives in North Florida, from Tallahassee, to Gainesville, to Jacksonville. She is excited to bring her knowledge, skill, and more childbirth options to the Lake City area.

Angie lives in Branford, and is the mother of three very busy teenagers Patrick, Haley, and Austin.

Student Midwives

Benita HoganBenita Hogan

Benita is a student midwife at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, Florida. She hails from Augusta, Georgia and is very eager to work with the birth center in order to gain clinical experience that will prepare her for work as a midwife. Benita has a passion for pregnancy and childbirth and recognized the calling to midwifery following the birth of her own daughter, now age 11. She’s had years of experience as a doula, training as a childbirth educator and life experiences that she feels prepares her to better care for women during this important time of their lives!
In her free time, Benita loves spending time with her family, including Irish Setter puppy, Max, and learning all things, new and old, about the birth world.
